Lesego is a feminist lawyer with 12 years experience. She most recently worked at the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) as a Senior Litigation Expert, prior to taking on the role of Senior Associate for Southern Africa at the Trust. Before the Commission, Lesego worked as a Senior Lawyer on Women’s Socio-economic Rights at the Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA), leading strategic litigation on feminist approaches to various women’s socio-economic rights issues, working with the feminist litigation network lawyers across the African continent. Lesego has experience employing an incremental approach to the protection of LGBT persons. She is a sexual and reproductive rights and decoloniality of power scholar.
